This might be a stupid question.

Is converting a mauser 98 to a blind magazine a matter of inletting the stock for all the magazine components but the floor plate and fabricating a floorplate for inside the stock (is this necessary?)

Would the same logic apply to any rifle with a fixed floorplate?

Failing this, besides kimber who sells rifles with blind magazines.

Thanks

I don’t think you need any kind of internal floor plate.

The magazine box for a blind mag remington adl is taller than the bdl version.

Remington, forbes, Barrett, kimber make blind mags. They’re around in the budget versions of older pushfeed m70s as well.

Sometimes there is a thin sheet steel plate on the bottom of the magazine spring, which contacts the wooden floor of the magazine well, rather than having the spring itself making contact.
