BLR magazine fitment 1990ish rifle

Lately I purchased a second spare magazine for my BLR.
I was kind of surprised it fits very tightly compared with the other two that came with this rifle.

Very tight fit into mag well, harder to remove it and initially it seems the mag feed lips just a touch too high.

Is this a common issue or am I being too particular??

Informed opinions please.

Indeed. This persnickety one was made in Japan. Internal feeds lips slightly out of alignment.

From what I have gleaned from the internet the earlier ones that have multiple calibers engraved upon the magazine platform seem to be more reliable from the get go.

Not counting the earliest series of magazines which are completely different.
