pick up a blr 81 in 308 and seems to work fine, cycle the action and everything works as it should, but when shot it today, 10 rounds the first 3 ejected as they should but the last 7 I really had to almost used 2 hands to open the action, using federal 165 sierra gamekings, brass is chrome wonder if that has anything to do with it, also there seems to be a lot of oil in the action to

If it has a history of hot loads the bolt head may require replacing... where the extraction cams contact the bolt head a small depression can form... hot loads are one thing the BLR's don't respond well to. I have had to replace two over the years...

Well maybe clean the rifle, make sure the chamber is dry and try different ammo.

How do you know it has had only factory ammo through it? The word of the previous owner/owners?

rifle belonged to my uncle, he bought new in 82, maybe fired 200 times, there seems to be a lot oil in the action, I think your right about cleaning it because he never had it done

Sounds like the chamber could use a scrubbing. If there's a lot of oil in the action, suspect that there is some dried oil lining the chamber. It will cause cases to stick.

My pre 81 .308 had the same problem once, I cleaned the chamber especially the shoulder and neck. I used a 9mm brush and connected it to a drill. It never happens again.
