Blr..............

Find one with the worked trigger and they are a fantastic rifle now I gartzs bewts awn the horseshew.
Need to load up some 200 gr rounds and take them both to the range and see witch one makes
the biggest smallest hole...……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Couple photos of the new recoil pad.
May not be as pretty as the grind to fit, but lengthen the two screw
holes a tad and it fits mighty fine 'nuff.
Now to try it out at the range.

What a f@#$ing waste of bandwith starting this thread that could have been solved in a solid search by the OP. Lazy, we figure...

Been installing pads for 50 years. I much prefer a Pachmayer Decelerator pad over all others... It is plenty soft but it lasts longer than the newer super soft pads.

Both of my BLR's have the 70's style pads and are just fine in .308 and .358... but Pre-81 BLR's fit me pretty well.

P.S - I detest gooey/sloppy Limbsaver pads.

The 81 BLR with steel receiver and stick out mag is one of the worst guns they have perpetrated on mankind.

Go enjoy with your new possy pad.

Correct. Choice of one, two or three layers depending on bladder volume.

As to my experience most of the older steel receiver, stick out mag BLRs shoot like shoes.

The .358 are the worst.

That is IMO why the high post count dudes dump em on EE. What a shame.
