Has anyone tried these. I picked some up a while ago and never got around to trying them. Started making a plan to give them a shot and found nothing but bad stories on the web and they don't show on the Ballistics Products website anymore. What gives? Any other ideas for roll-your-own sabot slugs?

I cast my own out of pure lead using the Lyman slug mold. They make a very big hole at 50 yards and I have a friend who has shot one over 500 meters and it was buried 8 inches in the ground. Note I did not say he hit the target. Only made the shot.
Yeah, those hourglass shaped slugs are OK but these sabots use the BLS-12 sabot which is more like the Win supreme or Barnes sabot slugs. More of a discarding sabot than just a wad. I had high hopes for them, but nobody seems to have any luck on other forums.
