What do you guys think ?

Do you find 1911s in general, look Classy or Pimp/Tacky with Ivory (look alike) grips ?

I'm more of a nice wood kinda guy so I voted "pimp/tacky". But really, do YOU like the grips? If so, get em, if people say its ugly, tell them they can put whatever grips they like on THEIR gun.

I like the look of ivory grips on a nice blued pistol. Pearl looks good too, but seems very fragile. If I were in a carry situation, real pearl would be my last choice.

Synthetic pearl, however, is very durable, and still looks nice.

I like the ivory, but i have to go with General Patton's comments on pearl grips. When a reporter asked him if the grips on the side arm he was carrying where pearl, he quickly replied to the effect that they where ivory, and only a New Orleans Pimp would have peal grips on a gun ;)

I like the pearl, off white imitation ivory or bone grips.. What if you could make some that look kinda like the note book in the first pic, like a gator skin or something that might be neat..

A very classic look indeed! If I had the funds, I'd be all over one of those in a heartbeat.

The grips need to be white not that :puke: cream color other then she is ###y

That color is called ivory. As already pointed out, ivory is not white. Nothing wrong with white if that's what floats your boat, but it ain't ivory... ;)

Thanks for the feedback. I love the look myself...just wondering what the general consensus was. I think I am gonna have to do it : )
