Good day everyone,
I bought a Russian SKS 1953r, glad I did!I'm just curious to know why it has a blued bolt? The bolt carrier is still grey, but the bolt is blued. Does it changes anything performance-wise?
It shoots into space if you aim at the sky.
The guy on the counter is an idiot. Next time you're in there ask him if he thinks a blued pistol slide does the same thing.
Cosmoline doesn't cause friction either. Cosmoline is just thick petroleum jelly put on to prevent rust during long term storage. It needs to come off before you shoot. Like grease, it'll attract dust etc. that will cause premature wear and, in cold weather, can stop the rifle from operating altogether. Comes off with Varsol.
This works well, my son did the bolt on his SVT40 and it looks sharp.soak this bolt in vinegar :] pretend it never happend
