Hi guys. I have a Ruger M77 that I would like to have re-blued due to a particularly wet hunting trip one fall. I don't want to cold blue it since I have done this on other guns (mainly cheap .22's) and I wasn't impressed. I'm willing to pay for a good job that will last me. Not interested in powdercoating since I am always worried that the tolerences will change. So, who (preferably in the Edmonton area) does hot blueing and about how much $$ would it run for my rifle? I spoke to Pud at Bashaw sports and he said it would run about 150-175 bucks, but the rifle would be gone for about a month. I would prefer to have my rifle back sooner then that if possible. Anyone have another contact for me? Thanks.

A month sounds pretty good! I doubt you'll find a smith who will do it faster.

In all honesty, I think you'd be better off going with something like ArmaCoat or Duracoat. They can make sure no tolerances will be affected! It will stand up MUCH better than bluing.

Check out armacoat.net. He's in EdmontoN!

Our turn around time is 1 week or less at the moment and we can replicate bluing by our High gloss black,a nd you won't havr to worry about rust again. Pm for more details and info if you like.
