'Blueing' finish on aluminium?

Ok, it is not a gun related question, but more a metal-related one.

I have to match the color and finish of a machined aluminium part to it's blued steel counterpart. I know that regular blueing stuff won't work on aluminium, and I was wondering what would be my options.

Would anodizing be my only other option?

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I have had good results using Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black.

Most gun shops stock this item.

I found some stuff from Birchwood casey Aluminum Black (i think that's the gun cleaner company), it was specifically for aluminum I got it from bass pro (if I remember). Not sure if it will yield the results you are looking for, but hopefully it's a start.
