Blueing issue

Hello all,
Just got a real nice Chinese SKS, its only blemish is a matte patch on the receiver cover. As I have other ugly versions and the rest of this is so nice, is there an easy way to reblue or fix this??

you could try to rub some cold blue there without polishing it, just clean it with acetone, the other option is to refinish the whole gun which is the only way you are going to get a perfect job.

Give it a really good bath before you do anything. It's most likely just a smudge in the preservative coating put on before shipping. 0000 steel wool and a bit of light oil should sort it out. Won't bother the finish either.

Just use some DE-greasing solution then put some cold blue on it.
