Blueline: EoTech / Aimpoint Test

It definitely comes down to personal choice. The Eotech 553 uses CRV123A's as does the Comp M4, and has a hard aluminium protective shell, nightvision settings, 7mm riser + a cantilever quick detach.

Aimpoint Comp M4 VS Eotech 553 would be a fair test. Me personally, I sold my Comp M4 and bought a 553.

I thought that after Bluelines position on the registry we had collectively decided that Blueline magazine and everyone associated with it are ####.

#### Blueline magazine...those antis can french kiss my hairy asscrack.

This review is fairly disappointing. I get the impression that the author didn't want to offend any of his potential sponsors.

As greentips stated, a proper drop test would be with the sight attached to the weapon, not by itself.

Eotechs are plagued by battery compartment issues and short battery drain issues. Perhaps you were lucky and got a good batch, many people aren't. The battery compartment is the weak point on Eotechs that they have not been able to come up with a fix for.

For those that aren't members on LF.net you should head over, register and read the Eotech Sucks thread in the optics section, or any of the other Eotech vs. Aimpoint threads. Plenty of first hand experience with both lines of optics. I've personally experienced and witnessed enough Eotech failures that I no longer use them overseas....T1 is the answer to the close quarter optic question.

Sorry for the thread resurrect, but I'm curious if you have had a chance to use the XPS or EXPS series Eotechs and if they have changed your opinion or not? The new transverse battery compartment is pretty much fail-proof from what I can see.

My 12g never complains and I have put this red dot threw hell and back.

One thing's for sure.... after watching the Daniel Defense DDM4 Torture Test video, that little Aimpoint STILL works (albeit a little broken)... and the zero's only slightly off

Irregardless of whether or not it's better than "brand x" optic, it's still pretty impressive imo at least
