Bluing and gold plating?

Hey so I have a Win94 golden spike that I would like to have reblued and AFAIK the action is gold plated. Short of buying a barrel and action vise would I be able to blue the gun with the action attached and not have it damaged.

Maybe I'm wrong about the gold plating so let me know if I am but either way I still want to reblue it.

Anyone? I know gold isn't very reactive so I was thinking of just tossing in the barrel band to see what happens before I put the whole receiver and barrel in but it would be nice to hear if anyone knows anything more than I do (which isn't much lol)
