I am interested in learning how to HOT blue firearms, can anyone recomend a good up to date book, also, What chemicals are involved and where does one purchase them I DO NOT want to buy from Brownells or such premixed ones, but prefer raw chemicals with a proper recipe. thanks Peter

I have done a few receivers successfully using this formula. You might want to try sodium or potassium nitrate as the ammonia gas is hard on the lungs!

A good mix consists of 65% caustic soda, 25% potassium nitrate, 10% sodium nitrite.

Unfortunately the most economic way to buy it is in large bags... often 100 pounds per bag .... so you end up with a lot of one chemical that you will never use ...
