anyone north of the border have any experience dealing with this guy and getting barrels back and forth across the border? the americans have nothing but good things to say about him.
i have a 50 cal investarms barrel that got ringed and i think i`d like it bored out to 54 and re-rifled.
is there anyone in Canada that does this?

unless the gun has some sentimental value you would probably be better off just buying another investarms muzzleloader at a gun show etc as it would be easier and more than likely cheaper.I believe lyman safarai and Euroarms were all made by investarms.I have a real nice investarms 12ga shotgun marked Gallyon which was also sold by Euroarms as their magnum cape gun,it is my favorite BP shotgun

Had a smaller caliber barrel done by The Gun Works in Springfield, Oregon and very pleased with the result. Good folks to deal with, however I believe anything larger than 50 cal runs afoul of some regulation in the US against the export of such things. With the breech plug out it becomes nothing more than a steel tube and may avoid problems. Joe at TGW will know, good luck.

I looked into having barrels re-bored in Canada, and it is cheaper by far to just buy a new barrel or a used gun and have extra parts. 1 barrel I had was ringed at the rear sight , so I cut it off and re breached it to make a 50 cal 20" carbine Hawken style .

Bobby has a great name, but add shipping both ways plus his fee, and it just doesn't make sense. Investarm guns were sold under many names here, Lyman , Churchill , Safari Arms and a few more, so finding a decent barrel on the used market pretty easy . Track of the wolf is also a good place to find a new barrel .
