BOLD Safey Question

I have a BOLD trigger with a side safety and am considering going back to the original 3-position Mauser safety (96 action), and the original safety doesn't seem to function properly with the BOLD safety installed. I was wondering if I have to replace the whole trigger with a non-safety model or if I can just remove the safety lever and have the same thing? (I e-mailed BOLD but they said they couldn't offer any technical advice.) Looking at them side by side, I'm thinking I'll have to replace the trigger unit but thought I'd ask first.
