Who makes a gun like this? I've got a guy coming over tomorrow that has one to trade, but he didn't mention the make.

Is it an anomaly? Collectable? I'm trying to figure out a ballpark value.

I know it isn't a lot to go on without the make, but even a bit of background or speculation would be helpful!

Thanks!

As already stated Mossberg and Stevens made them.Probably others too but they were the most common. Great little guns, some had adjustable polychokes some had fixed full choke. Price ranges given are good examples of their values.

the .410 bolts have either a 2 shell interior mag well or a 2 shell box removeable mag. The seller may be stating that the gun holds 3 as 1 in chamber and 2 in magwell or box mag. I have 3 bolt shotguns and all 3 are only 3 shell. The guns are built this way as to limit the number of shells to be the same as the plug in repeaters or semis.

$100-125 is average

I've got one in my safe right now, belongs to a friend who inherited it from her grandfather. Mossberg 183D-D. It has some sort of screw-on muzzle attachment but I'm not sure whether it's a choke. What I've read suggests that various models have CB, poly, or removable chokes of various kinds. It's got some surface rust, but the cell phone pictures don't do justice - the stock is a really nice grain, lots of depth. Haven't shot it yet, but she and I are eager to try it out. If it's one of these I'd guess $100-$150 in this condition, but it's all sentimental value to her. I'm no dealer, so that's my uneducated guess.

The most you want to pay and this if it is like 90% + is $200, most go for $125 here in Thunder bay as we swat grouse in the thick brush,. cheers Dale Z!

It funny the gunshop I work out of sold every 410 bolt that comes in the fall as it is easier for kids to carry and shoot, and we are not doing anything but point and shoot for 90% of our hunting nowadays as everthing in the bush is growing in ,due to the down turn of the Paper Mill buisness, no buisness no new cuts in the bush!

I love the 410 cal.! I hand load for all my family and friends, most econimical and fustrating shell to load! The hardest part is finding Winchester 3" hulls, as no one imports these for sale, so i pick them up whever I can and good friends save them for me, thank god!cheers Dale Z!

Well the guy got back in touch regarding a welding machine I've got for sale. He upped his cash offer plus the gun so it looks like I'm gonna be the happy new owner of it!
I'll post a pic when he drops it off

It is in excellent condition & very well maintained. Nicely oiled & the bolt is smooth as all get out! He had it to a gunsmith recently to replace the extractor & it was given a full once over.

That said I am going to sell this one in order to fund an SKS. I've already got a 12 gauge & I can tell that this one will be a safe queen. It would be great for my son, but he is only 16months old so I've got a bit of time to find him another one!

I'm at work now but will be home in a month & I'll post it on the EE then, unless someone here wants to lay claim to it?
