So heres what happened,
Got my new rifle, my rail and scope, everything went together flawlessly. I get out to the range to sight in my scope and after 3 rounds down range my rail comes loose(didnt use locktite, stupid me) so i strip everything down, torque back down my rail to spec, put my rings and scope back on.
Reload my mag back up and get ready to launch 3 more down range and pull the trigger *click* misfire, so at this point i let the round sit in there for 2-3 minutes before ejecting it and remove my mag. I check the round and notice the pin didnt engage properly, pull my bolt out and look at it, looks a little dirty and think maybe that due to it being -30 it was cold. Throw it on my dash to warm it up and clean it again.
So at this time, frustration is mounting, i reload my mag, chamber another round, pull the trigger and *click*. Well wtf i am thinking now, wait the 2-3 mins again, eject the round and remove my mag again, same thing, firing pin not full engaging. So at this point the guy beside me is wondering what is going on as well, he checks out my action and notices that my one screw from the rail is now protruding into my action and binding up my bolt. I remove the bolt and low and behold i now have this marking from the screw rubbing when locking my bolt down to fire
Now my question at this point, after meaursing the impact of it, seems to be less then .25mm loss of metal. Should i stop using the rifle and get the bolt fixed, or should i be contacting savage or the people who manufacture the rail and see what can be done under warranty etc?
