Well my GURUS I think the main spring in my Norskie Krag bolt has gone. Before I try anything I'd like to know how to take the thing apart. It took a little time but I finally learned how to get the bolt out. That was fine I cleaned the rifle all up as best as I could but the bore is still dark as a Mine drift. It still shoots just great but very low(6-8")at 25yds!! I reloaded some gentle loads in 6.5x55 and kept pressures low (Below 30,000)

Today I tried to open the bolt a nd it was "frozen"-gently using plastic hammer I got it open ,fed in a round and pulled the trigger--a soft click and the bolt slid forward so slowly. I'm sure its internal, can't figure out what I did wrong but its an old 1912 carbine slightly bubba'd. Wanted for deer this fall.

Any clues where I can get some instructions ?? I thought here first before I go over the NET . Thanks JITC:confused:

Bolt disassembly/Norskie Krag----DID IT!!!!!!

Well I stuck the bugger in my padded vise and pulled and turned it one way then the other and Voila! It came apart and WOW was it rusted, just completely caked in rust and corrosion. Out came the Kroil ,steel wool, CLP, wire brushes and 3 hrs later it was pristine! I have never had a bolt that dirty ever and I've done hundreds of Mauser/enfield/remington/swede bolts over the years. Getting it back was a little touchy(and lucky?) but its in the Krag and I just fired off a couple of rounds -Perfect! And if you thought Krags were slick, well this one sure is.Gonna bang a Deer this fall (I hope). The 6.5 is a great cartridge, Thank for your Help SUnray but I'm My own genius today!!!:dancingbanana::dancingbanana:
