Hi All, If anyone is looking to get some bolt fluting done, let me know. I had mine done by a shop hear in Calgary and they did a great job.

It cost $100 CAD and was done in Calgary by a machine shop called 3-ci machining. Turn around is pretty quick. He normally just says about a week but could be sooner. It all depends on how busy his machine is.

Is there any concern fluting the bolt as an integrity stand point? Does it affect the strength of the action at all? I would assume not with a front lug locking action.

Thanks!

From what i have read and researched, it does not affect the integrity or the strength of the action, as long as the fluting is not too deep and the material wall thickness becomes to thin. It does reduce some weight and makes for the bolt to slide easier and makes it look cosmetically cool :)

do you know if they have any experience with tikkas?

If you know what a tikka bolt looks like, and can view the picture at the top, you can probably put two and two together there friend.

The machinist mentioned has posted on outdoorsmenforum as well, and has done quite a few tikka's by the looks of things.

Have a look there as there is quite a few options, I was going to go this route before I found a couple rear locking lug action rifless and sold the tikka.
