bolt lube

So I sold the house and bought an HS Precision HTR .308. I am wondering what you guys are using for lubrication on the action to keep it nice and smooth as it is..thanks

You need to use grease at three different points (the faces of the locking lugs; the camming surface of the cocking piece; the primary extraction rub point, usually at the base of the bolt handle on most actions).

The rest of the bolt body can be kept running slickly in the raceways with a small amount of oil, BreakFree, or the wonderlube du jour of your choice.

I have a small tube of white Lubriplate that I use on the above surfaces.

Army surplus Leopard tank grease.... awesome stuff...

I use the same procedure as rnbra-shooter. Quality grease on the pressure/camming points, CLP elsewhere. Also use the grease on the firing pin & spring.
