Bolt-stop is sheared, is it repairable?

Recently purchased an older Heym SR20, nice rifle but I discovered an issue... Seems that the previous owner manhandled the bolt a little too violently at some time, causing the tip of the bolt-stop to shear.

Found out that Heym also made the identical rifle for Mauser (Model 3000) and the parts are interchangeable. Good luck for me here, Numrich sells the whole part for $20 US.
Now with the covid restrictions in full effect, it literally might take months until I have it in my hands, so I'm scrambling to maybe have someone repair the existing broken one.

Now, i'm no welder or machinist but I have friends and friends-of-friends who are... time to call on a few favours! The missing chunk is only about 1/8" long, still enough to cause the bolt to flop out every third or fourth cycling. Planning on takling the problem soon and asking for their help, just thought to run it past the experts here, beforehand.

My question is this, will a simple gob of weld on the tip, roughly filed to the original contours, work? Will I be able to get away with maybe some JB Weld instead? Anything above the red line in pic is currently missing on piece. Thanks in advance.

No JB weld; I would not hesitate to fix this with Tig Welding; or if someone has an Oxy Aceteline torch with a small tip; build it up with bronze. Both would work.
