Hi, sry to be bringing up an old topic but can anyone post the link to where that guy drilled & tapped the receiver/scope rail on his AR180B and bolted the rail right on w/ red loctite? Im doing the same but just want to know the size of the bolts he used.....

Thanks!:ar15:

Thanks, just a couple more q's:
-Can the upper & lower be seperated or no?
-For those that have pried off the scope mount plate, how did you flatten the top
after? (The metal bent up slightly @ the spot welds, and I don't want to risk grinding it
since the metal is so thin).

Thanks for all the help, I am going to get the rear sight milled off, rail drilled & tapped length of receiver, and possibly
a new gas block milled. I am thinking about getting it rebarrelled, but not sure if it'll improve accuracy all that much,
and dont know if anyone knows a place in Wpg that'll make barrels for not too much? I was told around $600 for a barrel
from a place in Selkirk but that was a while back.....

Thanks!

YOU PRIED THE BASE OFF!?!?

Take a mallet to it, hopefully you didn't #### it up too bad. In the future, drill or grind welds before you try to remove parts.

Yes, the upper and lower can be separated. You have an AR180B in your hands and you are asking this question? I'm beginning to question your abilities to undertake this project.

1. Ya, drilling wouldve been a much better idea, but after reading an article on here how a guy pryed his off w/ a screwdriver I thought it would be the easiest way.....

2. Haha Im not a Comlete Id**t, just somewhat, Im just wondering if I take the clip off the pin, will be pin come right out?

Thanx!

Yes, if you take the snap ring (circlip) off the front pin, it will slide out. You can separate the upper and lower that way.

Please don't stab yourself in the leg with a screwdriver doing this.:D Try to get proper snap ring pliers.
