Bond Arms Derringer in 38/357

I did have one (I had 410/45 and the 38/357)

Although possible, getting it on target at 20y is a stretch. The bottom bbl shoots pretty near POA but for the top one, you need to aim quite low even at 5y to place your shot near the first one.

The trigger pivoting at the top as it does further hampers accuracy, IMO.

Super fun and a challenge to shoot these lil' buggers. that's for sure.

Very fun to shoot but not accurate device. They are what they are, one step up from the knife. Useful range is approximately 3 feet. Barrels are not perfectly parallel.
410 slugs/45 are especially fun to shoot.

SigP2101, I strongly suspect that the barrels ARE parallel. It's the very small and awkward grip combined with the radically different bore axis heights that make the upper barrel shoot so high due to the recoil lifting the muzzle much higher before the bullet exits than what occurs with the lower barrel.

A fun gun but nearly useless due to this over/under trait.

That is interesting theory and plausible in case that gun had loose lock up. Mine felt really solid and sturdy lock up and no play at all. One barrel was shooting high to the left another low to the right. At 10 m spread was about 4 feet consistently. That was it for me.
Other than that thing has a charm, I liked metal work on it except that little silly screw on extractor that looks like it came from inside Japanese stereo.

My wife has one I bought her at 10yards she can hit a bullseye target with it but she has to correct for which barrel she is shooting. I on the other hand can't hit the paper. O well back to the 1911s.

Bought one after and had it up to the range today. Took quite a few rounds of 38 spl to get the feel for where I had to put my POA for each barrel but by the time I left I was able to keep most (free hand) shots on
8.5x11 paper at 20 yards. Granted all over the paper but at least on the paper. At 10 yards I could just keep POA center of paper and both rounds would hit the paper (one high, one low but both on the paper). At 20 yards, the top barrel was pretty much on but the bottom barrel was shooting about a foot low.
Tried a few 357 rounds (110 grn only) and they had some snap and a good fireball but quite shootable. These 110 are a pretty mild load in my L frame S&W....not so mild out of the Bond but not too bad (and I'm not a big fan of recoil). I'll try some heavier 357 loads next time.
When I got home and was cleaning it up I decided to try a lighter hammer spring in it to see if I could reduce the trigger pull a bit. Its definately lighter now and its still reliably popping primers (during testing) so hopefully that will help accuracy a bit too.
Anyway, fun little pistol.

A few pics from my range session today with the bond 38/357. Here's some targets shot free hand. 6 consecutive shots each at 5 yards, 10 yards and 20 yards. The 5 and 10 yard targets I just aimed for dead center. You can see how the top and bottom barrel print differently. The 20 yard target I had to adjust my aim to where I know the barrels will hit in order to keep them on the paper.
