I'm interested in increasing my long range performance. I am a novice with good equipment, but no skill. I would like change that and was hoping for recommendations for books on the subject including the use of device based ballistic computers.
Thanks for your help

Another good option is Magpul's Art of the Precision Rifle 5-DVD set (or Blu-ray).
Very comprehensive and the video instructions have some obvious advantages over books.
Basically a full precision rifle introductory course on video.

got it for Christmas last year, lot's of information

I have the Brian Litz dvd, applied ballistics, great info, Holland ones are good as well as David Tubb, I know they aren't books but great resources. Tiborasaurusrex also has a Sniper 101 series on youtube that is very detailed.

I'm planning on attending their level 1 precision rifle course in the spring down in Yakima, WA. Should be a good time, little pricey 750 usd for 4 days of instruction and practice out to 1000 yards. Only issue is ITAR, so Americans or permanent residents are only allowed to attend. Lucky for me I meet the requirements.

YouTubes sniper 101 toturials are excellent to sit and watch I've learned a lot through him. there's a number of books available, one I picked up at Chapters is Mastering the art of long-range shooting by Wayne Van Zwoll, it's a good beginners guide as well as the others the boys listed above.

Sorry for the thread hijack...
That sounds like a cool course!! What part of ITAR limits the Magpul class to Americans and Perm residents? Lots of us take other courses down there, compete in comps, get carry permits and go hunting. Wouldn't a 6NIA work?

...back on thread topic, as mentioned above, a great Canadian book is The Wind Book for Rifle Shooters by Linda and Keith. I am hoping to take a LR course with them next year!!
