Bore clean on whole gun?

I was wondering, when I do my regular field strip and clean after my range visits, can I use bore cleaner to clean the slide, and the rest of the gun? Or should I use something else. Up to now I've just been wiping down the surfaces with a dry cloth, and then putting a little bit of gun oil on the slide, etc. Should I use bore cleaner or keep up the way I'm going now?

Depends on the finish of your gun, and the type of bore cleaner you use.

I have a mild solvent that I often use with a toothbrush to thoroughly clean the area around the firing pin etc.

However, I would make sure before you do so. Some bore cleaners must not come into contact with a nickel finish, for example.

I'm using outers bore cleaner. and my finish is blued, with some stainless parts that I added
