Bore guide.

Just got my first M1 garand. What do you guys use for bore guide? I tried looking on e-bay but no luck.

Nobody cleans their M1's?

One of my rods has a little brass cone, which centers in the bore, and keeps the rod from rubbing on the crown. Kleenbore brand.

I have a coated Dewy rod but I still like to have a bore guide to protect the crown.

Have you tried the US suppliers who cater to the NM crowd? Or perhaps a little plastic cap could be found which would fit the muzzle, then drill a hole for the rod.
