Bore sight scope?

Hey all, I was installing a used Redfield scope on a British 303 Parker Hale rifle (new to me, not fired by me) and I could not bore sight it left to right. I had a Nikon used scope put that on and no issues. I'm thinking the used Redfield is just no good. I have not fired the gun, nor either of these scopes have been tried before by me. Bought the gun from my (since) deceased friend. Thoughts?

Do you have windage adjustable bases and installed backwards to where it was prior? Range of movement on the redfield could be less than the nikon was as well. Are the crosshairs moving like they should be?

You have the rifle upside down.

For the fun of it here is a photo. I don’t think left to right was moving or not much at least. I finished the install with Nikon Coyote BDC (.223) really like these scopes.

i would say the Redfield has very little adjustment either way, I could not get the up/down above the horizontal line on the bore sight either.

Call this topic done. Thanks everyone. I take it out to the range and something weird happens I’ll get back in here. Present time I think this is my hunting rig.
