Both rings fore/aft of turrets?

Guys

I've always mounted my scopes the "classical/standard" way with the rings bracketing the adjusting turrets.

How many of you have installed scopes where both rings are fore of aft of the turrets?
Any long term issues?

I have a rifle with excellent fixed sights, which I'd like to keep. I can add a scope with a low mount, not require a cheek piece, and have ideal eye relief - BUT it will require that both rings are located behind the turrets.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Doesn't matter. If the scope is securely mounted and eye relief is correct, go for it. Depending on action length and scope configuration, sometimes there are few choices. There are offset rings, if that makes a difference.
