Well I went out and bought a new Savage 93R17 BV at the local store in Prince Albert today. Now I have been wanting a .17HMR for some time but the right one came along and I needed to get it. I picked up some Leupold aluminum rings and a Tasco 4-16x40 AO scope for it too. Its my first Tasco but I hope it works out, I may put it on my old .22 and upgrade later tho....
First off I was originally wanting a synthetic stock but after trying the brown laminate with the wide foregrip I wasnt going back! Overall the fit and finish is pretty good, I will need to modify the accutrigger to lower the pull even more tho and pick up some spare mags too. I picked up some Remington 17 grain jacketed hollowpoints and some Winchester 17 grain polycarbonate tipped bullets and will test them out soon. I will hopefully get some range time as soon as it warms up a bit and post a review. I want to post some pics soon too.
