Waiting for the arrival of my m305 and reading all the posts, i had to order one of boyds stocks, they look awasome. Im wondering what ill need to put the new stock on the rifle thats not in my hands yet, lol. What metal parts do i need or can i use the parts from the norinco stock?

You can.... but... keep those files and rasps handy for some woodworking to fit or 'shoehorn' the metal liner into place. All depends on which high school shop class made your liner and screws! :D

Did you get a Boyd's stock that has the holes for the stock liner, or is it one that uses bedding?

In any event, you will need to remove the ferule from the end of the norinco stock and install it onto the wood stock. Some boyd's stocks use liners, some don't.

i have know idel what i ordered, unfinished walnut stock was the only description on the web site. impulse bye last night lol, hope im not in over my head

you will most likely need the metal liner from the old stock. If it is the wood one.don't know what is in the plastic ones.I also had to find a tap that was the right size for the liner as in my case for the two I have the metal liner was two piece spot welded to to each other and it seemed like they tapped them before they spot welded them so needless to say had a h_ll of a time geting the retainer screws to go throught the second part of the liner and they will be a really tight fit in there, which is good but it was a fight.Butt plate fit but it also was tight fit had to use rubber hammer but when everything was in place fit was great. good luck and enjoy

thanks, just got the confirmation on the shipping of the rifle and stock, cant wait, havent been this excited for a while
