Its been along time since I've posted, but I finally bought a FNAR with the heavy barrel. Here is my experience after 250 rounds through it...
1.It has never jammed in anyway or form.
2.The magazine fits into and out of the mag well with ease.
3.With all of the cheek comb and stock adjustments it comes with it fits me like a glove.
4. The trigger is nice and crisp, and it feels like a hair trigger compared to my M1A Loaded.
5. Accuracy. It is definitely a sub MOA semi-auto. At 100yards I can get 3 shot .75 inch groups, some groups are smaller. I've had a few 3 shot groups slightly smaller than .5 inch, these are rare though. I have done some 5 shot groups that are just over .5 of an inch to about .75 of and inch is size. Some groups will be slightly over 1 inch, but this is because of me and ammo selections. I should mention that I don't hand load. I only shoot factory match ammo.
6. Cleaning. The barrel and action are as easy to clean as my M1A. The gas system, I will admit, is definitely more labour intensive but not "hard" to clean. I've done it once and the next time will be faster.
7. Visual appeal. I like it. It has a unique presence to it and I think that works in its favour. It looks mean with the Bushnell 4200 I put on it.
8. Overall impressions. It really like to shoot this gun. It is very accurate and feels great in my hands. The look of this rifle as I stated earlier is different, but this works in its favour. It has a really unique beauty to it. I would recommend this rifle to anyone who loves accurate semi-autos.
Anyone else out there have one or shot one recently? Would love to hear more reactions and impressions on this rifle.
