Let me explain this to you since you seem to be too young to ever had a job. When someone pays you to do something you do it there are no excuses period. As for it being a big deal it would seem to anyone reading this it is a much bigger deal for you than it is for me otherwise you would have not responded. You seem to have a problem with herpes. Get help I have never had a disease like that so I cannot help, but I am sure there is help for you out there somewhere. As a moderator you are quite the jerk which is telling me something about this board.
I must be getting old. Nobody appreciates my droll sense of humour anymore. Must use more emoticons to convey "tongue-in-cheek" responses.
As another poster stated - I am not a moderator and I am not sure what led you to the conclusion I was.
The point I was trying to make (with the list of widely embellished examples) was that in the big scheme of things -- a five day delay shouldn't be anything than what it is - a first world problem.
In a perfect world (known to all science fiction fans as "Utopia") there should be "no excuses period". I would agree with you 100%.
However, last time I was sober, I found out I was still grounded in a world called "reality". (Mortgage - check, cranky ex-wife - check, aches and pains on body parts I didn't know existed - check, migraine - double check).
Mistakes happen all the time (for example: I made one responding to your original email on the subject). But hey, I'm only human
With the advent of the interweb there seems to be a shift in attitude that nobody that runs an online business should be able to make an honest mistake.
In the past - the simple courtesy of phoning up the offending party and "giving them a piece of my mind" before receiving an apology and the promise to do better in the future was sufficient.
It used to be the measure of how a business person responded to a mistake -- would determine if the "wronged" person would continue to spend their hard earned money with them again.
Apparently, that is no longer the case.
My apologies to you if you have been offended by my observations regarding your original statement of claim.

P.S. You do know my herpes comment was just some random thought that entered my head when creating the list (or was it a latent sub-conscious faux-pas on my part.......). Must ask my shrink next time I am at his office.
