I was in Bashaw Sports to pick up some primers, and ended up going home with another 17Mach2.The rifle is a Ruger 10/22,with Boyds laminated thumbhole stock, custom ER Shaw custom barrel, custom 17Mach 2 bolt adapter, trigger kit,Leupold rings and Compensator. For $650,I couldn't leave it behind. It is in excellent shape, with supposedly about 500 rounds fired.I will be mounting a Leupold 3x9x33 rimfire scope, and the gophers will be in even more danger this summer.

Congrats-I never run into anything like that but I did see a Kimber .17M2 this weekend for sale-but I can't convince myself to toss $975 for a gopher gun no matter how nice it is.
Sounds like a great deal-I'm sure it will shoot "like a laser" !:dancingbanana:

Ok ,where's the pics ? :)

I actually bought the gun with the intention of installing a match grade 22lr barrel, and removing the bolt adapter to convert the gun to a 22lr.If I do so,I will post the 17Mach2 Barrel and bolt adapter on the exchange. If I get enough out of the barrel and bolt adapter,I will be way ahead of the game.As for a 17Mach2,I already have a Cooper Jackson Hunter on order for gopher hunting, and the 10/22 is probably going to become a range plinker. For a range plinker,22lr makes far more sense. Then again,if the gun proves to be exceptionally accurate,it may remain a 17Mach2.

I mounted the scope, cleaned the gun,and here is a picture.

I could save you a lot of hassle by buying the rifle from you. Well, the barreled action at least...that stock looks like it would be a mite painful for a lefty. :)

Beeyootiful rifle btw.

Several people are already interested in buying the 17Mach2 barrel and heavy bolt handle. If I decide to sell,I won't even have to post them.:D

I test fired the gun today. The trigger pull is horrible, but shooting by leaning over the bench,I average 5/8" five shot groups at 50 yards for four group two each with Hornady and Remington ammunition. At my regular range,I could likely do sub 1/2".The gun fed perfectly with both loads.

Well the 17Mach2 barrel and bolt are sold.I e-mailed the first few people that expressed interest in buying them, and the first definite taker has bought them. The new 22lr barrel and bolt handle are already on the way,as is a new trigger kit.I get my 22lr plinker, and Farmer Harv gets a 17Mach2.

And here are the bolt and barrel in their new home...

Ran 50 rounds through without a hitch. Freaking windy here again (still) so just shot prone at a box in the back yard, and 10 round groups were under an inch at 50m. Hopefully it'll calm down and I can use the bench and bags out back and really see how she performs.

Thanks stubblejumper!

Thanks Clay! Yeah, it's my consolation prize, but now the scope finally has a nice place to sit. :) Did you ever hear if anything was going to arrive this year, or are you still getting the silent treatment?
