Now I'm having problems sleeping at night. I'm obsessing all day long.

Is this condition normal?

Black Rifle Disease... There is no known treatment but shooting some 5.56 on a regular basis reduces other symptoms.

Congrats rustyb, only one problem; you have broken CGN Unwritten Rule#1.

Thall shalt always post pictures when creating a post about a new firearm acquisition.

Sorry, I don't make the rules.

:D

Haha, I had the same issue! From the time I decided to shop, obsessed over which one. Made up my mind, placed the order, obsessed over the transfer wait time(only 24 hrs, but still a long 24...lol). Got the transfer, obsessed while waiting "patiently" for the mail man to show up. Got the rifle, obsessed over what RDS to start with. Got that, then obsessed about finding time to go to the range. Did that, now obsessing about not having enough ammo, what BUIS for the rear, when can I go back to the range, what to add next, and on and on it goes. Can't believe I waited this long to give the AR thing a try, seriously fun!
What did you get?
Congrats and enjoy the obsession!

Keller,

Pics will be forthcoming. Rifle is still with retailer waiting for transfer approval etc.

Went with NEA-15. Great price and I won't guilt others into it but when I have the chance to buy Canadian, I certainly handicap the purchase appropriately.

Me too I've purchased an AR 15 2 weeks ago, but here in quebec, transfer for AR are long...... Transfer time is 2-4 weeks, but I bought it during christmas holidays so it'll be more like 4-6 weeks for transfert. Imagine..... I think about it all day long :)

I think yours and mine must have been in the same batch then. This waiting 2.5 months has made me feel a little neurotic! It has been a long time since I have wanted anything this bad and the longest I have ever had to wait for something I have bought...a combination that does not bode well for an instant-gratification junkie like me!

My transfer has been approved so my itch will finally be scratched soon enough! If the post office F's it up though I think I will just call the guys in the white coats and oversized butterfly nets! :D

You guys are pathetic - BUT WAIT, IT GETS WORSE! - wait 'til you're pulling away from the range after running 500 rounds and you find yourself trying to figure out if you have time to pick up some more ammo and get back to the range before dark, or before your wife starts sharpening the knife. It's a long slow and painful descent into the world of the hard core Black Rifle junkie. Enjoy the ride! :D
