bought some 90gr 40s&w HP's

I didn't realize they were only 90gr and it don't look like there is a whole lot of lead in the round. would it still be safe to shoot from my barretta 96??? or is there a possobility that the round would break in the barrel when it goes off??

90 Gr???? I've never seen something that small in lead.. Maybe Frangible... I've sold 135's and I didn't think there was much too them... Who's are they

Can you post a pic or a link to the manufacturer?
 
bought it at the woodstock gun show for 20 buck a box ..... friggin a buck a round, but from the info big JD posted it looks like not a bad round for zombies
 
I remmber seeing there tests in a gun magazine a wile back, the 45 acp round was suppose to penatrate a 3/4" balistic glass, wile still penatrating 12 inches of gelitain after. If I recall corectly when fired into bare gelitain it only penatrated around 12", and it apeared most of the fragements didn't make it past 9", and whent off at different angles It would be nice to see the test of the .40version.

Might be good for headshots, with no exits. Or mayby it may go through some body armor?

For defensive ammo it is recommended to fire a minimum of 200 rounds through the gun for function/reliability testing. I would not use any round for carry (US CCW holder and yes I have legally carried) or defensive without thoroughly testing it.

As for handloads not the best idea for defense or carry???? I would just pick up some Gold dot factory loads from P&D ent in Edmonton they have every flavour.
