The offspring will be old enough to hunt deer next year, and I’d like to get him an appropriate rifle. The big snag is that he is a southpaw, and compact left hand rifles are thin on the ground. Rather than messing around with shortening and extending a succession of stocks I’m thinking of dropping the barrelled action into a Boyds AT One and extending it as needed.

Have any of you used this stock? What are the pros and cons? I have one rifle in a Boyds stock and I’m happy with the quality of it. I’m hoping this one will grow with a junior shooter.

Thanks!

I do not like the regular AT one. I find the edges very sharp and uncomfortable. However the AT one thumbhole is much nicer to handle.

I bought one, had it shipped up from the States. Lets just say the quality of my CZ457 MTR stock was WAY better, I was just looking for an adjustable comb, which was on the AT-One. I put it on the EE and sold it at a loss, put my MTR stock back on and never looked back !!.

Did I buy your stock ?
You are rite the original MTR is by far superior , more comfortable.

I like them.

But I don't think I would want to carry it hunting.

It's a bit heavy, and like others have said pretty squared off.

Mine is on a savage MK2 .22lr and is a comfortable little plinking gun.

The one that comes on the CZ457 AT-One is much nicer than the stock one Boyds markets.

After shooting a friends I bought one for the sole reason it felt solid and can be adjusted for my kids.

It also shot 1/2" group at 50yds with CCI standard ammo.
