Boyds Prarie hunter stock OK for precision ?

Man, you can't paint that wood. It looks too nice man!! It'd be a shame.

Me? I'm building this .223 the be a range queen/hunting rifle. My next rifle will be tacticool. I mean, in all seriousness, are you ever going to be stationed on the roof with your rifle awaiting orders from your squad commander to go hot? LMAO, order the wood and keep it wood. :p

Or paint it. Up to you! :p

I have a few of Boyd's thumbholes for a few savage rifles, only one prairie hunter for a sheep rifle build I just completed....BEDDING is a MUST!! They have a rather "generous" fit as shipped....but a bit of your favorite steel epoxy and you're good to go!

###y little stocks....and I don't feel bad if I ding the snot out of one at under $100....

Watch re-contouring button rifled barrels - I've seen the bore "grow" when the material is removed a few times. Suddenly a really accurate barrel becomes a waste of steel. Cut rifled - no problem. Button rifled - most makers that I am aware of contour the barrel and THEN do the drilling and rifling...
