What do you guys think of these types of stocks? Has snyone had a "pro varmint" stock from boyds (for any rifle)?
I would get it in green and expect it to look like this > http://www.gunsamerica.com/userimages/5133/925691442/wm_6689610.jpg
Obviously the shape would be different on a vanguard but I am more interested in the quality.

Can anyone attest to the "pro varmint's" quality? Is it worth about 160 US shipped (200 Canadian)

I got 3 Pro varmint Stocks

Love them

When you switched the stocks out did you feel the difference in quality was worth 200$? If I was going wood I wouldnt have a problem but I have not heard too much about the synthetics.. Although your dedication to them makes me want to buy one right now haha.

I replaced plastic factory stocks, So their is no comparison. Here is another Boyds on my hunting rig.

If I lived in the US I would have more of them... lol...

Ok that positive response was all I needed, Ordered the Pro Varmint Long Action in green. CHRIST that shipping made it hard though. 45$! Will post a picture when my rig is all done. Thanks!

The pro varmint is wood.

do you think the pro varmint stock would be an upgrade to the accustock from boyds? I have a 308 10tr with the accustock and am not sure if I like it. I was looking at the boyds pro varmit for it but don't know if it would be a step up or down
any thoughts?

I have one on my heavy barrel axis and love it. I haven't seen any need to bed it. All I had to do with mine was open the barrel channel. This is 5 shots at 100 meters. Using sandbags as a rest.

Savage 111, .300 win mag, with detachable mag, Pro varmint pepper laminate stock.
The action and bottom metal fit up is darned near perfect, do find that the area around the recoil lug to be loose so as soon as I can find me some bedding compound I'll be bedding that at least.
I've since added a Kickeez pad, had one laying around, to replace the Boyd's hockey puck.
All this needs now is a scope, just need to make up my mind as to what I should put on.
