Hey guys~considering getting one of these for my Savage 93FV, just wondering if anyone here has one...how you like it, how good the fit is, etc. etc. This is the one I'm looking at;

I know one needs some metal parts from Savage to complete the job, but this rifle deserves a nicer stock. It can shoot! :)

I don't have that stock, but I did buy the rimfire varmint thumbhole for my Savage Mk.II project. Fit was decent, with very minor inletting required around the safety lever. I bedded it and opened the barrel channel a bit to clear the heavy Shilen match barrel I installed. Very decent value for the price.

I've too have been thinking of getting one for my S93 ... my SR22 is already in a Tacticool and don't need matching stocks on my favorite rimfires ... as nice as that would be :D

I just bought one off the EE, haven't got it yet.
We tried a bunch of different wood stocks down at Cabelas, the RVT, the Evolution, and they had a gun with the Dakota Will. My wife preferred the RTH so I jumped on the one that was up for sale here.

I just put that stock on my 93r17 heavy barrel. Mine is the blue laminate thought. Fit is perfect I didnt need to do anything to the stock just screw the action to it and go.

I have the Tacticool on my 93FV 22WMR and its a nice stock and a big improvement over the original , I finally have that rifle pretty much the way I want it so for my next one I would like the Target / hunter stock.
I really like the look of the stock in the pepper laminate and the nutmeg version as well .

How was the cheek weld without the strap on? Was it really necessary? I like the look of the RTH but don't want to have to add anything else to it to make it comfortable.

I have a EGW rail set up up on mine and putting on a 4-15x50 with med rings once it arrives. If it needs a strap on I may just end up going with a tacticool like I originally planned.

I have a 3.5-10X50 on an EGW base with low rings and have plenty of clearance if you wanted to keep it as low as possible.

It was fine without the cheek rest. I put it on there because I like the look. I have a egw rail on order form mystic also.

Well Boyds was kind enough to put up some limited runs of the Rimfire Target Hunter stocks seeing that the original ones were all sold out. These versions come with barrel vents cut out on the for stock, much like the thumbhole version of the varmit line.

I got one today in Pepper Laminate ... now the waiting begins!
