Im thinking of putting one on my savage markII FVT because I'm having a hard time with the drop in the comb. On boyds site the target hunter looks pretty good, but I only get a side view... And from what I can see it looks like they have a nice wide flat on the forestock for riding a rest, which would be a bonus because I plan to use this gun for opensight benchrest.

Also how does the comb drop compare between say, the fv plastic crap stock, OEM BV, and a thumbhole? I really think the t/h is the one I want, but I'm still not sold on the $170 total investment after hardware and shipping... Decisions...

Also, is the trigger guard you order from savage alloy? Or is it the same crappy plastic one on their BV model? The ones from boyds are alloy, am I correct? And does boyds sell the longer action screws too, or are those a savage order?

For the bottom metal(mine should be here soon) I ordered stainless so I dont think its plastic. The stock is on the way still so I cant say yet. I'm sure others will chime in on it soon

The bottom metal is metal. Can't say if Boyds sells the longer screws, I bought the whole kit from Savage.

The thumbhole stock has a radiused bottom on the forearm. A WAG puts it around a 6" radius. The forearm width varies from ~1-7/8" at the action end to ~1-3/4" at the muzzle end.
