A couple of weeks ago I ordered a Boyds Tacticool stock for my Savage Mk.II. It was back ordered, so nothing happened until yesterday, when I got an email from them saying my order had been cancelled and that they cannot ship that stock out of the US anymore. After a couple more emails, I was told that the State Department specifically singled out that stock and told them they can no longer ship it internationally.

F**king bureaucrats anyway. :bangHead::bangHead::bangHead:

Total bull crap ....glad I bought one last year for my 93FV.
I dont understand why the US gov would stop them from selling that stock to us.

With the US economy being the way it is you would think they would be begging for more international business. I think the US vendors need to start raising s**t over some of the rediculous rules they are coming up with.

Wow! Guess I got mine just in time!! I've only had it a few weeks...

Seems to me the time is ripe for someone in Canada with a CNC machine to start making some serious coin...anybody up for this?? I suspect there'd be a ton of business, just on Savage MkII & Ruger 10/22's alone...

its tactcool. the only people that want them out side the usa intend to use them against usa citizens. make perfect cents to me. the world is ending

yeah, well it doesnt surprise me.... i tried to order a 44mm Vortex Sunshade, and they couldnt send it to me because it was apparently a "restricted" item! Its a freaken 44mm hollow threaded 4 inch long tube! I ended up ordering it, sendit to a parcel service in the nearest U.S town, and picking it up in person. When i got to the Can. Customs I decared it, showed the invoice, and the guy said I was good to go, he didnt even charge me any tax on it because it was under 50.00...... I was surprised, as its such an obvious lethal weapon! ;-) (Those insanely deadly, lethal four inch hollow threaded tubes! painted flat BLACK to boot!!)

this whole Obama thing has got out of control, or just the opposite, too much control! Common sense has become yet more uncommon!

i was trying to buy one of these for my 10/22 just the other night n thought.. WTF .. no explanation given as to why it couldnt be exported..

if i sent it to my aunty in CA ( cali ) and got her to just USPS it to me.. think there would be any issue there?

Beavis and i were discussing this the other day.. just told him by txt that the state dept. singled this one out.. his reply
"I swear we live in some ####ed up parrallel universe where common sense is scorned"
LOL

So if they can't export them would any kind of trademark apply if someone reproduced them here?

It is my understanding of the murky trademark/patent law is that pretty much, you can't patent anything made out of wood.

Consult the numerous discussions on other sites regarding copyright infingement and knock-offs of famous guitars, such as Fender and Gibson.

In otherwords, if you want to duplicate their stocks, nobody can really stop you.

not that its really their design anyway. their stock is a basic ripoff of the Mcm designs, which are probably copied from european smallbore target rifle designs
