Looking at changing my factory stock on a Savage 93R17 FVSS, Cant decide on Pro Varmint or Thumbhole. I can shoot this thing with the cheapy plastic stock on there now, the size is way off as Im a taller dude. I have a Pro Varmint stile on my Savage 10 FCP 308 and love it but I'm new to the rimfire world. Anyone have a preference? Its a target rifle so Im not worried about fas follow up shots or anything like that. Never had any experience with thumb hole stocks so I was hoping for an opinion from my fellow members. maybe even a comparison from some one who has both.

Thanks in advance.

You made the right choice. I had their thumb hole stock... I never could get used to it. Felt very uncomfortable for me personally.

Never hear a bad word about the "tacticool" / pro varmint stock.

I own, use and like both styles... the Pro Varmint is better off the bench and the thumbhole is better offhand... and a nicer carry. I am 6'4" and 270 pounds with 3XL hands and I find the Pro Varmint very thick in the grip area.
