Boyds thumbhole 22 question

I recently purchased a Boyds thumbhole stock for 10/22 heavy barrel. Had a project planned but have limited funds right now so was wondering if I could put it in a 10/22 standard barrel in the mean time.

There sure won't be any question with the stock barrel that it's fully free floated...

Hey, look at the bright side. You'll get some solid data from shooting it to show what sort of improvement the new barrel will have once you get it.

And not all stock barrels shoot shotgun like patterns either. You may just be surprised at what you have.
