I have a few Boyds stocks on my rifles and have been very happy/happy/happy with them. Just scored a 1935 hex receiver Nagant from the Smyth St Canadian Tire in Fredericton N.B. for $125.00. They are a new batch that come with the bayonete/cleaning kit/oil bottle and a 4 page owners booklet? in Russian. No sling tho .I must say that for a refirb the stocks are gouged and scratched quite badly and some are heavy refirb. The metal on the 1935 is in excellent shape and seems to have never been issued. The stock has refirb stamps and the upper handguard seems very old as the copper end bands were painted black at one point.Possibly to make it more tactical? Anyway I wanted a cheap milsurp project [ $400.00 max including rifle] to do so I seen on the [boydsgunstalks.com ] on the weekly specials section they have a beautiful [ Prairie Hunter ] walnut Mosin Nagant sportster stock for $75.00! [ $50.00 to ship ] Why have plastic when ya can have a beautiful walnut stock? If the stock is like the others I have purchased it should just drop right in with no fitting as the others did. Anyone know of a good but frugal bi-pod for my build? Cost so far Mosin Nagant - $125.00 / Boyds Walnut Stock - $150.00 [ shipping included ] Tradex - scout scope mount $16.00 / EBAY - Muzzle Brake - $20.00 / Frugal bi-pod ? Build so far is $ 311.00 plus some for tax and shipping. cheers!

Any pics? As much as I love the Mosin Nagant, It would be nice to slap on a stock that would make it more appropriate for every day use. Would love to see the gun in the stock though.

If ya go to the Boyds site look under [ weekly specials ] there is a side by side picture of the Mosin with military and walnut stock. Also Info sayin ya save almost one pound / swivel studs installed / rubber recoil pad installed / less muzzle rise etc.
