I took a chance and ordered a Boyd's xx Claro walnut stock for my Marlin 1895. Has anyone here purchased one for their rifle? Hoping to see some pictures to give me an idea of what to expect...doesn't have to be a Marlin. Thanks!
I replaced a couple of plastic stocks with Boyd's laminate stocks, noticeably reduced the group sizes. The actions dropped right in no fitting required.

Group size decreased again when I added pillars and a metal mag latch so I could torque action without damaging stock.
I restocked my A-Bolt with a Boyds XX Claro about 5 years ago.
The wood is okay. The stock fit, shape, and checkering are excellent.
Not that this applies, but I also found that the stock design decreased my felt recoil significantly.
I was not impressed with the finish as it arrived. I got their gloss finish option and it looked like the pores weren't well filled. I rubbed it with fine steel wool and now the finish looks better but the woodgrain isn't as visible.
Best thing I ever did for that rifle.
I have a Boyd's XX Claro Walnut stock on one of my Vanguards.
While it is not spectacular wood [I did not expect it to be] It is
quite nice, the rifle fit into it perfectly, and it fits me well also.
Definitely a great upgrade. Dave.
