20 twist barrel , 21 inch barrel ?, .50 cal Muzzleloader.
Got a LB of Pyodex RS , I think it is. :D Have to look on the can
What weight bullet? Might have to amend post on ee, requesting a mould :(
RB any good?
Please share any information you have on this setup, thanks
Just had a brain storm, gonna get sabbots (.50 cal) and load 260, and 300 gr cast sized to .451/.452 depending on sabbot. Sounds like that might work ok?

a bullet in the 250-300 grain range is what I use. Start off with around 80 grains and work up slowly. shoot a few and if they group well add 10 grains until the group spreads then back off a few grains until your group is good. What range are you planning to shoot at an animal. If 100 yards or less 80 grains will be good enough. If just having fun with targets use 50 grains and a tin will last a long time. If it will be for hunting work up a load and keep with it. Also I cast Lee R.E.A.L.'s in 250 and 320 grain and have had good success with groupings at the range. Have not hunted with them yet but will use only them in all my smoke poles. Moulds are less than $25 at SIR. have a great evening.

Thanks man, I cast for 45 lc now, so the 260 and 300 grainers will be ok , thats cool. I don't want to have to find pure lead, I got many , many lbs of mixed, so sabbots are what I will go after. Thanks for the load data, I got a lb of Pyrodex to start the fun.:D
Anyone have a line on 100 to 1000 lots of .50 cal (.451/.452) sabbots without bullets, good ones, like hornady or nosler , that would be great.

Try the Buffalo 385g HPHB bullet, and 80-100g of powder. I know of a fellow that has that rifle in .54, and he shoots the 410g Buffalo bullet with 100g of Pyrodex RS. If you can't find any I have a box of 20, but shipping is almost as much as the bullets sell for. Good luck.

Thanks man, but got some sweet 300 gr slugs round flat, monsters, be cool (run through the sizer), and load into a sabbot. The gun has a brass butt plate :D and my bones are pretty dried up. :D
What I am gonna need apart from the sabbots is a powder flask, and measure. Might go to midsouth for the works if no supply up north here.

You might also look at "Track Of The Wolf". I have ordered from them before, and had real good service. I might also sugest some speed loaders, they are a good way of carrying extra loads in the field. Good luck and have fun.
