I loaded my antique percussion shotgun on Sept. 1st. I just shot a grouse with the same load on Nov. 5.
I reloaded w/ a charge I had measured in 2007 and stored in a plastic tube. It shot clean and perfect.
I once bought an antique powder horn. It had some old powder in it, maybe 100 years old. It worked fine!
I just found a bottle of C&H BP I bought in the 1980's- I have no doubt it will work fine.

Friend of mine loaded his ML rifle one deer season and never fired the load till the next years deer season. It pits the area where the charge is. He isn't too dedicated a ML shooter.

A friend told me about a ship in England, I believe it was called the Tudor Rose, that sank centuries ago. when they found the wreck recently, they recovered some barrels of black powder. After drying the powder out, it was still as good as new, he said.
