I am in Edmonton, and looking to shoot in BPCR competitions. The google searches I have done have lead to pages from 2011 or older for BPCR Provincials and Silhouette matches.

Does anyone have any info regarding current BPCR offerings, if there are any? I am slowly getting better with my rifle and would like to possibly start competing!

I think there is a fair bit of BPCR silhouette happening in Alberta. You are close to Two Hills where I think there are still silhouette shoots.

I shoot with a couple of guys from Alberta who drive down to our Heffley Creek ( BC ) shoot each year. I can ask them and send you a PM if you like.

By the way, here is some info on the upcoming Heffley Creek match:

The Stettler gun club used to run some BPCR events at a range at Donalda but someone from town pi$$ed off the farmer/land owner so he shut it down 10 yrs ago or so.

I don't know of any "strictly" BPCR shoots being held in the province, if there is it is probably at the APR range at Kananaskis. There are a # of Cowboy shoots in the province that have Buffalo rifle & Lever gun silhouette side matches in conjunction with their main matches where you use the powder of your choice, your free to use BP if you want.

I know that the Ab. Frontier shootist club is exploring the feasibility of running silhouette matches on sundays again after the Saturday main matches, Med Hat cowboys run long range Buffalo & Levergun Rifle matches in the afternoons after the main match, The Trochu gun club runs combination levergun-pistol-buffalo rifle Silhoette matches 4 or 5 sundays thru the summer (camping is available at all 3 ranges).

I know its not in Alberta, but you are only about a days drive to go shoot the Quigley in Forsyte, Montana in June, or the Big Hill shoot at Baker, Montana a week later.

Thanks for the great info. I will look into these for sure! And thanks LeroyvdH, I will see if I can find some more info on that match. Would love to go.

CASSA (centeral alberta silhouette ass.) plans to reopen a silhouette range near Halkirk this season there is some talk of doing BPCR again as well . Anyone interested ? send me your E-mail and I will keep you posted.

Fort Whoop up B P Club at Lethbridge holds a shoot in July. Hefley Creek and a couple of other hold shoots in BC. Check out the website for Boomer's Molds for the shoot he sponsors at Bethune SK every summer.

Once you get to know a few of the players you will find there are a lot more opportunities than evident from outside the "club".
