Looking at getting one as the gang are looking to start hunting one of the dedicated shotgun seasons next year.
Pro's con's ?
The other choice and perhaps the first choice would be an Ithaca deerslayer but one is much easier to find than the other.

Thanks for any and all advice.

20 gauge has far better ballistics than the 12. I love my BPS and it has a high round count. Shotgun only area here however I use buckshot.

I used a 12 gauge 870 for years with success when I hunt in the controlled hunt. But after comparing the ballistics of the 2 and getting a good deal I got a Winchester SX3 20ga slug gun. Why punish my shoulder when the 2 have identical ballistics and the only advantage the 12 gauge has is the amount of energy the bigger chunk of lead retains for longer shots. The 20 gauge still has plenty of energy, equal to or more than a 30-30 which has taken a lot of deer itself.

Thanks Dutch ,, I am trying to find one that I can shoulder, have handled the Browning and it seems solid and it fits well and being somewhat of an Ithaca clone I may grab one as they are easy to find ,, can't say the same for the Ithaca.
