So I got me a nearly new Browning BPS in 12 Gauge 2 3/4-3" shells with a 28" barrel in duck blind camo. I'm just wondering if there are some after market thumb hole stocks for them be kinda fun to have one. I see them for almost every other make of shotgun around.

Also the front bead is the low profile one that in the early morning and late evening you can't see all that well and I have plans on replacing it with something a little more visible and have no idea what would work best so a few idea would be appreciated.

Even if your could find a thumbhole stock it would VERY likely only be for right handed folks.

As is the BPS is a pretty left friendly firearm...enjoy.

Assuming that you plan to use that for Duck hunting, maybe Upland (but no other game such as deer)....

IMO, the thumbhole stock won't be conducive/comfortable to wingshooting (more so in the confines of a duck blind) since one would have to contort the wrist at various angles.

Moreover, changing the bead will have no great impact to perfromance (other than to your wallet even if the cost may be minor :))....cause one should always be actually looking at the bird with the bbl pointing towards that. It's the gun fit that must be adequate.

The gun fits and is accurate enough I could as it is drop a deer at about 40 yards with a slug as is. As for the thumb hole it would be a bad idea for bird hunting (which is what I got if for) As for the bead due to it being low profile and chrome color it doesn't exactly do much for helping me lay the barrel down over the target as I've tried shooting it at targets in the last 30 minutes of light I hit the targets but I don't see the bead at the end of the barrel so I have to eyeball it. So I want something just a little more noticeable so when I'm blasting away I have a POA reference.

The gun fits about as good as I'm gonna get short of getting a customized stock for it

I have a BPS stalker and just love it. I did change out the front bead to a Vizicolor light tube. The kit came with the interchangeable light tubes (orange, green, pink, if I remember correctly) and a series of replacement screws in different threadings for the front bead. The existing bead unscrewed easily and was replaced in 5 minutes with the new sight.

The kit cost around $25 at LeBaron last fall.

Cheers,

Bruce
